The most common style of doors is the typical hinged single door. When installing this door style, the design of the room should be one that allows space for the hinged door to swing. Typically, the interior doors of this style are usually lightweight and feature two hinges. On the other hand, the exterior doors are usually heavy and will mostly feature three hinges.

A classic style of door is the panel door and this one usually feature either three or four rails on the horizontal and will have three vertical stiles. In between them are spaces, which are usually filled with some thinner panels. Sometimes, each of these panels will be surrounded by decorative molding or any other kind of representation. The next door style you can choose is the flush door and this one is technically just a flat, simple slab. This is in fact the most preferred style of door by many due to its inexpensiveness. The surface of the door is usually a hardwood veneer and can either be oak or birch. The flush door could be stained even though most of the other materials usually have a great look when painted. A flush door tends to blend perfectly well when used in contemporary settings as they tend to look somehow out of place when used in traditional homes. The interior flush door is usually hollow with the exterior flush door has a solid core for obvious reasons.

Trendy French DoorsAnother style of door that can’t pass you by is the French door and this one usually gives your home a charming touch while at the same time featuring that extra wide opening of the doorway. Generally speaking, the design if these doors are usually traditional and most of them usually come with some glass panels and are used commonly in patios as exterior doors. Nevertheless, interior French doors usually make an incredibly stunning passageway when used between rooms.

Pocket doors are a style that is very common in older homes and they are used mostly in the interior. The main characteristic of these doors is that when fully opened, they tend to slide to the wall. You can open the doorway completely without having to take much of the floor space. Other styles of doors that are worthy choosing include the bi-fold doors, bypass doors, panel doors, windowed doors, storm door and others.
